For this mission, our bloggers have been given two strings of decorative LED lights, outlet timers and LED nightlights. These energy-efficient items, along with holiday DIY projects, will help them decorate for the holidays.

Christmas Card Display

Part of how we’re trying to combat that this year is by switching to LED lights. They use 90% less energy than regular incandescent light strings (the ones we’re used to!!). That energy savings translates into actual dollar bills for you!

There are two things you should know about me for today’s post: I’m a holiday freak and a frugal nutjob. Those two things don’t always go hand-in-hand, though. If money was no object, our house would be decked out Griswald-style and lighting up the local skies. But reality sets in fast when the electricity bill comes and I realize that, oh shucks, money is in fact something to think about in this little humble life of mine.
